My first commission - very stressful but satisfyling

It's one thing doing a makeover for oneself but quite another for someone else. Especially when the colour and finish requested was chosen from quite a small spindly piece that I did before.

I love it and I hope she does too. Annie sloan paint mix with clear and dark wax. No before photos but the items were pine. All being well there are some more items to do in the same finish.

  1. This is lovely and the finish looks fab! What colour is the paint? I bet they will be really pleased with it.

  2. FabUlous job Pat! I love how it turned out. I'm sure they are gonna love it. What a great friend you are!

I just finished painting the last of 4 chairs in the Paris Grey and still have the base of my table left. Then, I am going to paint a thinner coat of Old White over the Paris Grey. After I'm sure it is good and dry I will sand some to make for a smoother finish and wax with clear and use the dark sparingly to high light the lattice in the corners.

I don't mind telling you it has been time consuming because of all of the legs and the rungs of the chairs and getting between the lattice was also time consuming but all in all the paint is a dream to use...So easy and smooth. I love the Paris Grey color, it is just perfect and exactly what I was looking for.
