I seem to have come to terms with Annie Sloan dark wax at last.

Just a little old pine stool that had seen better days. I used the same Lavender colour I made from Scandinavian Pink and Aubuson Blue plus Old White. I then clear waxed it and highlighted (lowlighted might be a better description) with dark wax.

Quite sweet I think and I like the colour, I may have to use that on something bigger soon.

Also want to show you what the other half has been up to. A stand for the hi fi units, including a drawer for cd's and at the bottom space for LP's. Was not allowed to use ASCP, spoilsport!

And now ready to rock and roll!

He does have his uses.

  1. Oh my I think I know this stool form old??? How absolutely gorgeous it is, I love the colour! So with the waxing, I havent done a large piece yet, do you leave it for a while before rubbing over once the dark wax is on?

    1. Thank you Linda, it is a very satisfying process that for the time being I have had to pretty much stop doing but may hopefully start again this summer.

  3. This color is amazing! I love it. Do you remember how much of each paint you mixed to get this beautiful final color? I would love to duplicate it on a small side table I have. It is perfect!

    1. Thank you for your kind comment. I honestly cannot remember the proportions on this one. I think I started off with the Aubusson blue then addad the white and lastly the Scandinavian pink until I arrived at this colour. Happy mixing!
